Dear readers,

We are happy to publish the European Neighbourhood Instrument Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 projects' brochure OUR LEGACY. The brochure highlights the great achievements of Lithuanian and Latvian beneficiaries working together in the cross-border regions on the external border of EU to strengthen their social, economic and cultural development. The brochure is as well a big THANK YOU to our beneficiaries that showed up resilience and motivation to continue the projects' implementation under very challenging conditions !

Reflecting on over a decade of cooperation within the European Neighbourhood Instrument Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 on Latvian and Lithuanian external border of the European Union, we acknowledge that managing the Programme has been both challenging and exciting at the same time. Despite obstacles such as COVID-19 pandemic and the changing geopolitical situation in the Programme region, joint Beneficiaries’ and Programme institutions’ efforts have successfully facilitated the implementation of 49 exceptional projects, approved through three Calls for Proposals, including 5 large infrastructure projects focusing on border security and modernization of school infrastructure. The results are presented in this e-book “OUR LEGACY”. The intense competition for almost 55 million EUR of Programme funding ensured the selection of the most vital ideas for the regions along the European Union’s external border. Our projects vividly demonstrate the synergy of achievements reached through the remarkable cooperation among these regions.
