Project Description

OBJECTIVES:

• To increase accessibility to social inclusion services for vulnerable children in the Programme area by involving them into informal art activities
• To enhance public sector's skills and develop a new tool for providing social services at regional level and encourage activity of NGOs to participate in providing social or other services for vulnerable children

TARGET GROUPS AND FINAL BENEFICIARIES:

• Vulnerable children and their parents
• Social service professionals and art teachers
• Čiurlionytė Art School and Children Creativity Centre in Varėna
• Citizens of Varėna District Municipality

SOFT ACTIVITIES:

• Development of informal art educational program for vulnerable children from rural areas helping them to participate in the same learning process as other kids
• Organisation of joint art therapy events and summer camps for children with disabilities and their parents together with all children
• Organisation of joint trainings and workshops for increasing capacity of art teachers and social service professionals from NGO sector to work with vulnerable children
• Awareness raising events: art contest, conference, promotional events, sharing information on project activities and achievements with all target groups and contributing to reduction of social exclusion

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:

• Renovation of J. Čiurlionytė Art School and Children Creativity Centre in Varėna
• Acquisition of musical instruments as an alternative solution for solving problems of a psychosocial nature and increasing the effectiveness of art therapy
• Purchase of equipment for art classes suitable for children with special educational needs
